1. How do you raise money for the Foundation?
Our primary source is through our Dr. Nancy English Memorial 5k Run/Walk. We also receive donations from businesses and individuals. We are also considering other avenues to raise money – namely an annual women’s luncheon and rummage sale
2. I’d like to volunteer, who should I contact?
If you would like to volunteer for the race, please contact Becca Richards. If you’d like to volunteer in another capacity, please contact Emily Crook.
3. Are your Staff / Volunteers / Board of Directors paid?
We pay a small fee to our race director. Everyone else is unpaid.
4. When is the application due for the scholarship?
For 2011, the application deadline is November 15th, 2010. Award winners will be notified by January 1st, 2011.
5. How many recipients receive a scholarship and what is the typical scholarship given out?
It depends. Anywhere between 1 and 7 award recipients. In 2010 we had 6 award recipients along with 1 from our endowed scholarship at the UMD Medical School

Yes.

8. I’d like to run in the race, but I don’t have enough money for the registration?
Please contact Hilary English Crook or Emily Crook and we will work something out.
9. Why did you change the date from November to July?
We wanted the race to be more inclusive and realized that there were people that did not want to participate in the cold month of November. Also, Duluth is such a wonderful city in the summer so we are hopeful we will get more participants!
10. How can I donate to the foundation?
You can send a check to 800 Fairfield Circle, Minnetonka MN 55305
11. What is the difference between the foundation, the race and the scholarship set up at UMD?
The foundation is run by our family and we make all the decisions. The Scholarship at UMD is
an endowed scholarship that we can decide to donate to after each race.
12. What if I want to donate to the Dr. Nancy I English Foundation for a scholarship and not the
scholarship at UMD?
This is fine. Just write that on the check. The majority of the money goes to our scholarships.
13. My company would like to donate/sponsor the race and/or foundation. Who should we contact?

14. Do you have any religious or political affiliation?
No.
15. Can men apply for the Scholarship?
Yes.
